American Idol – The trio, my take !

Sitting here watching a delayed showing of American Idol and I thought I’d make notes as the evening went for the final three. Jordin opened the show with a great performance one that oozes class. I preferred this version to the original “Wishing on a star”. Simon Cowell liked the performance but didn’t like the arrangement.

There’s no doubt the three best singers are left in the semi-final and it’s going to be hard to chose the final two from these talented singers!!! Blake’s up and singing a police classic “Roxanne”. Blake has a magnificent delivery and yet again makes the song his own with a faultless performances, very reggae!!! He ends the song with a slide towards the judges – no beat boxing ! Again Cowell keeping it real comparing with Sting’s rendition.

Now then this will be very interesting, Melinda is going to sing Whitney Houston’s “I believe in you and me”, one of my all time favourite Whitney songs!! Not the greatest offerings from Melinda but it was polished and she made it her own. It sounded a key lower than Whitney’s version and not as “sweet” but it was still a cracking attempt. After the first round I’d probably have Jordin and Melinda as the finalists.

Jordin kicks off round two with a Donna Summer number, “she works hard for the money”. A very confident song but I didn’t think it was as good as the first song of the evening. Very feisty though. The crowd loved it! Oh wow, Blake gets to sing Maroon 5′s “This Love” – this will be interesting. Welcome back to Blakesville ! This is more his music – cracking blend of beat boxing and singing – I really enjoyed this, he’s back in the game. Judges agreed with me for …

Pete Is The Winner of Big Brother

Congratulations to Pete on winning Big brother 7. I really wanted Glyn to win mainly because for an 18 year old he seems a top bloke and because his journey has been amazing since going into the house over 90 days ago.  He has carried the flag for the Welsh, too much at times but you have to admire his pride in the Welsh language and country.

Also very impressed with hoshe took coming second, congratulating Pete time after time before Davina called him out to face his adoring public. To see a complete run down on who was evicted and when click here.

Big Brother Eviction Night Special

Big Brother 7 in the UK is finally coming to a close with the remaining six finalists eagerly awaiting Davina’s call to ask them to vacate the most famous house in the UK, apart from number 10 that is!

I’ll provide a run down of events tonight and keep you informed as to who has been evicted and who wins. Before Davina evicts the first of the remaining house mates, the ex house mates are introduces to the mad crowd. Shabaz and Bonnie are first up followed by Grace and Mikey who were royally booed by the entire crowd, aimed specifically at Grace methinks! Jonathan (who never made it into the main house) and Jane were next, both receiving a good reception. Welsh babe Imogen and fake boring Suzie were next to climb to the stage, a luke warm reception ensued.

There are obviously far too many ex house mates as they are all in pairs tonight. Spoiral receives a massive hug from Davina and standing by his side is Michael. Sam and George were the penultimate pairing followed by Lea and Lisa. Less said about them the better I think! Right onto the main reason we are here tonight ……

  • 1st Evicted and in 6th Place is……..Jennie. I have to say I’m very disappointed with this, I so wanted the fake Nikki to go first. Oh well !! There’s always fifth !
  • 2nd Evicted and in 5th Place is…….Nikki. Superb, great result, one better than I wanted but at least she hasn’t won. Stand by for histrionics once again. Why are they booing me? !!!!
  • 3rd Evicted and in 4th Place is……..Richard. The Thunderbird has gone, about bloody time !! This leaves just Aisleyne, Glyn and Pete.
  • 4th Evicted and in

Meredith Salenger WOW !

Meredith NowOh My God ! I was just sitting here minding my own business after finishing off a few things around the house when I saw Meredith Salenger on the tv! I nearly dropped my newly opened a bottle when I saw her in Lake Placid (Deputy Sharon Gare). Only last week was I trying to remember her name when we were talking about Dream a Little Dream, but I failed miserably until I was in a position to search on the net.

I absolutely adored her in that film, starring the two Corey’s : Haim and Feldman. It was a great cast with stalwarts Jason Robards and Piper Laurie also starring. I think apart from Susan Ursitti (Boof) in Teen Wolf she was my first major crush as a very young lad. One thing I can say about seeing Meredith in Lake Placid tonight is that the years have been very very kind to her. Apparently she took a break from acting after Dream to gain a degree from Harvard in 1992 (Psychology). No idea if she’s married or has children but I’m available if she’s desperate!!!

It;s great to reminisce about the good old days, I think I’ll have to get hold of a copy of the DVD now and see why I thought so much of her when I was a wee child!

What I’d like to do now is find out what happened to Susan Ursitti after Teen Wolf ? doesn’t look as if she has done much unfortunately and no recent spottings. Anyone know anything ? I hope so.

Mel Gibson Arrested DUI

Someone once said that you learn something new every day and today is no exception for me. I don’t know if I can be accused of being blinkered, out of touch or blind but I can honestly say I never knew anything about Mel Gibson’s problems with alcohol, the devil’s drink, the … you can go on! I don’t know how I could have missed this news but following his public arrest on Friday in Malibu it has now become apparent, the Oscar winning director and actor has a huge problem.

I know he had received a lot of criticism for his anti-semitic views especially following his film “The Passion of the Christ” and his alleged distorted view of the Bible etc etc. He has since released a statement on his drunken behaviour with many people especially showbiz reporters claiming he had received preferential treatment due to his fund-raising efforts for the police. Hollywood Split over Gibson’s future

The police did not charge him with driving under the influence because it’s the district attorney’s duty to decide if the arrest merits charges. After being taken into custody, Gibson posted $5,000 bond for his release, said sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.

Will this have any affect on his future box office draw or will it increase his profile ? we all know he won’t be the last actor to resort to drinking but i for one do not condone any drinking and driving – I don’t care who you are. If you drink; you don’t drive, simple as that.

The statement reads as follows:-

After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed.

I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County …
